maaiiConnect , pronounced “ma-yee connect”, comes from maaii, meaning “ant” in Mandarin (蚂蚁). Small as ants are, they are collaborative and resilient creatures – they can carry loads 10 or more times than their body weight. Their antennas are also used to feel and communicate to work together. They show team spirit and harmony. It was clear from the beginning that these tiny creatures could inspire the maaiiConnect model in many ways.

The small-but-strong characteristics of the humble insect parallels maaiiConnect ’s wide range of capabilities all “carried” by a small maaiiConnect widget. Their antennas could easily represent the different “feelers” of web and telecom communication nodes.
